Voice Messaging lets you talk to your character instead of typing. Record a voice message, and your character replies in its own voice — back and forth, like sending voice notes.

=== Set a Voice First ===
Before you can send voice messages, your character needs a voice. If it doesn't have one assigned yet, you'll be asked to choose a voice for it first. Once a voice is set, you're ready to start recording.

=== How to Use ===

# Record your message: Press and hold to talk. When you let go, your voice is automatically transcribed to text, so you can review or edit it before sending. Slide up while recording to cancel.
# Choose how to send: You can send your message three ways:
#* Audio + Text — sends both your voice and the transcribed text.
#* Audio Only — sends just your voice.
#* Text Only — sends just the text.
# Get a reply: Your character replies in its own voice, based on how you sent your message. For example, if you send Audio + Text, your character replies with Audio + Text too — and the same goes for the other types.
# Auto-play: If Auto-play is turned on, your character's voice reply plays automatically. Otherwise, just tap to play it.

=== Your Voice Stays Private ===

* To protect your privacy, the voice recordings you send are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Your text and your character's replies stay.

== Custom Voice ==
Custom Voice lets you clone a voice from your own audio file and use it for your characters. Upload a short sample, and the system creates a voice you can pick whenever you chat.

=== How to Use ===

# Open the Create Voice form: Start from the homepage Create menu (Create Voice), or from the Choose Voice popup in chat by tapping + Create (available from the voice button, Voice Setting, or the quick toolbar).
# Upload an audio sample: Add an audio file that meets the format, size, and length shown on the form. Around 30 seconds of clean, high-quality audio works best.
# Fill in the details: Voice Name and Gender are required, and Language may be required. Tags and a Description are optional.
# Confirm the consent box: You must confirm you have the rights to clone the uploaded voice before you can continue.
# Create: Your voice is queued and appears under My Voices while it's being made. Once it's ready, you can preview it and start using it.

=== Private vs. Public Voices ===

* The voices you create are currently for personal use only.
* We are not making custom voices public yet, but it's something we're working on for the future.
* When public sharing arrives, a voice's Description, Tags, and Language will be shown to all users to help them choose a voice — so it's worth filling these in now.

* Find every voice you've made under My Voices in the Choose Voice popup.
* Select one to have your character speak in it, then play messages as usual.
* Delete a voice anytime you no longer need it.
* If your slots are full, delete a voice to free one up, or upgrade your plan for more capacity.

Text to Speech (TTS) lets you hear an AI character's reply out loud instead of only reading it. Every character speaks in a voice — either one the creator has set, or one you choose yourself — and any message can be played back as natural-sounding audio.

=== Where a Character's Voice Comes From ===

# Creator-Set Voice: When you create a character, you can give it a voice from our official options. If the character is public, that voice becomes publicly available too — anyone who chats with the character will hear messages played back in the voice you set.
# Choose Your Own Voice: If you start a chat with a character that has no designated voice, you can pick an official voice yourself. There are two ways to do this:
## Open Voice Setting.
## Tap the voice button in the input field.

=== Playing Messages ===

# Play a Message: Once a voice is set, every reply bubble has a Play button beneath it. Tap it and the system generates audio from that message and plays it back.
# Replay Anytime: After the audio is generated, you can replay it as often as you like.
# Change the Voice: If you change the voice and then replay a message that already has generated audio, it will re-generate using the new voice.
