Vore, or voraphilia (from Latin vorare, “to swallow,” and Greek philia, “to love”) is a sexual fantasy or paraphilia involving arousal from the idea of eating, usually whole and alive, another individual, human or non-human, being eaten by them, and/or observing one individual eating another, or even being absorbed and merged with another.
Characteristics
Vore is a category that actually encompasses a diversity of fantasies. Vorarephiles are generally classified as "predators", "prey", or "observers" depending on the type of fantasy. The fantasy may include digestion, which is often imagined as painless and frequently allows the prey to “reform” unharmed, or it may involve the inclusion of the prey’s consciousness into a collective consciousness developed by the predator.
The internet has enabled the growth of vorarephile communities, particularly among amateur artists who express and share their fantasies through drawings or written fiction. In rare cases, some choose to publish their creations. Vorarephilia is very prevalent among works published within the furry community.
