Monster girls are female characters used in various media that incorporate traits or appearance characteristics from mythical creatures, animals, or other supernatural beings. They are frequently seen in manga, video games, anime and literature. In most cases, these characters embody the personality of the creature they are mixed with. Monster girls are in most cases depicted with human beauty, with additional features on top. These features vary greatly, for example, they may have wings, tail, scales or in more rare examples, half of their body may remain animalistic.

Etymology and Origin
The term "Monster Girl" became rather popular due to japanese erotic art as well as due to a growing interet in fantasy genre. Japan used a similar concepts for a very long time, but they usually referred to it as yokai (supernatural/mythological creatures). These two terms are not the same however, as Yokai is specific to Japanese folk stories, with less freedom when it comes to species. With its growing popularity, the term nowadays includes a wide variety of characters, with more being ''Created'' daily. These characters can range from the playful to dangerous and predatory, with each monster girl reflecting different attitude and traits from their counterpart.

Monster girls have become quice a popular theme across various forms of media.
