Trans Female
A trans female or transgender woman is a person whose gender identity is female, while the gender assigned to them at birth based on the appearance of their sex is male. The word "transsexual" is still sometimes used, but it is becoming less common and is not recommended since it's an outdated medical term.

Terminology
Transgender people are defined as those whose gender identity is different from that associated with their gender assigned at birth.
The term "trans female" combines the gender with which the person identifies (woman) and "transgender". The term "transfeminine person" (sometimes shortened to "transfem person") is a general term referring to trans individuals assigned male at birth with a predominantly feminine gender identity. This includes trans females, but also non-binary people assigned male at birth who may have a partially feminine, but not entirely feminine, identity.
